I have a long list of "I could live here" places and Moab, Utah is definitely at the top. This photo was taken while hiking "The Fiery Furnace" in Arches National Park. You must either take a ranger guided tour or purchase a permit to hike this trail. The desert is a very sensitive ecosystem and this area contains biological soil crusts (aka cryptobiotic soils) which are composed of communities of living organisms. These special soils have many ecological benefits including reducing soil erosion, increasing nutrient levels for plants, and reducing dust. They also absorb water which helps decrease evaporation. Some of these soils are thousands of years old and if damaged they can take 20-250 years to regenerate. So watch where you step, leave no trace, and keep this beautiful trail open for many generations to come!

This canvas print has a vivid, fade-resistant print that you're bound to fall in love with.
