When I first started to get into hiking and camping, I went through a phase of “bagging” 14ers (hiking to the top of mountains with summits over 14,000 ft in elevation). Was I good at it? No. I was slow and got altitude sickness almost every time (apologies to everyone who shared those special moments with me). I think I ended up hiking sixteen 14ers, this picture was taken hiking Mount Massive, just outside of Buena Vista, Colorado. It was always a treat to see mountain goats on these hikes, and I welcomed any opportunity to stop for a picture.
